5Quality Distortion Sound!  Jul 14, 2010
This is my first ever distortion pedal and I'm loving the executable control the Big Muff Pi gives me. It looks great, sounds amazing and seems to be constructed very well to handle the rigours of stomping the hell out of it! I'm still playing with it, getting used to all the fantastic things it can do for me. The control of how much distortion you can mix in with your original tone is unbelievable. You can go from mild distortion to all out balls to the wall kill mode, with everything in between! If you're looking for a great distortion pedal that's more than worth the price, the buck stops here, my friend! :-)

5RUMBLE RUMBLE!!!!!  Feb 24, 2010
Wow....I now consider myself and Electro Harmonix Addict!!!! the Big Muff it's just incredible, I used with my Epiphone Thunderbird along with the EHX The Mole and the house actually rumbled...no jokes.

The Big Muff for bass gives you so many options and possibilities that I actually found myself turning knobs crazy. There is a switch that gives you 3 options Dry, Normal and Bass Boost. Personally I loved the Dry option with the Volume Knob at 9, the Tone and Sustain knobs at 12.

Later I tried it along with the tremendous and underrated THE MOLE bass booster...and man....the house this time actually moved a couple of inches to the left....(The wife wasn't that happy at all ;-)

All I can tell that if you are looking for a GREAT bass fuzz with a ton of conbinations and sounds....well stop your search...the EHX Bass Big Muff it's the next BIG THING.

....if you need a little more substance to make up your mind about this excellent effect let me tell you this: It felt at some moment that Cliff Burton's Ghost was in the house.....what a cool feeling!!!!

Cheers...

PD. REVIEWING AN EFFECT PEDAL WITH WORDS IT'S WEIRD AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.

5EHX  Feb 18, 2010
Like most EHX products, this one far exceeds expectations. You want fuzzzzz? You get it here. Switch it to dry, and try it with the POG from EHX. Definitely cool on a PJ setup like mine, lots of versatility, from a subtle buzz to flat out open throttle, this thing just kills... Plenty of demo vids online so you can give it a listen.
I even have fun using it with my Dean EAB, oh, and it has also become my favorite distortion for guitar too.

4Pretty good pedal for the price  Dec 06, 2009
This pedal provides pretty good overall tone, much better than other bass overdrive/distortion pedals I have used/tried in the past. The construction is pretty durable so I don't have to worry about transport from gig to gig. So far it is well worth it.

5fast and fine  May 30, 2009
Glad this buy took me less than a week. I have to travel overseas and want to get it before. I did and it was what I was expecting. Well handled and packed.
