micro rocker! Jul 13, 2010 This thing sounds like playing through a super loud clock radio. Just like you should expect from something so tiny and powered by a 9 volt. This isn't a bad thing, though, it's perfect for what it is.
If you want thicker distortion, just plug in a pedal. I plug my Pod X3 Live into this thing and it rocks.
The tone isn't fantastic, you're not going to play a concert with it, but for practice (where you have no space or are away from your home set up) or busking, it is just the thing.

Don't get excited Jul 17, 2007 Although adorned with the Marshall logo, this little amp does not live up to the name it carries. While the clean channel sounds good at mid to low levels, the distortion, is just that; distorted, as your guitar will lose its identity when played a high levels. Although I only purchased this amp for $30, it does outplay most mini amps that I have used, but does not live up to the Marshall trademark. My advice is to save your $50 and by a good solid state combo amp such as crate or Randall (long live Dime).
